Summer Student Research Program (SSRP) for High School Students
This year our 9-week summer program runs from June 10 to August 9, 2019. All selected interns will work one-on-one with a practicing scientist on meaningful, independent research projects. Interns are also exposed to a variety of engaging topics such as: medical ethics, conflict of interest, cultural competency,neuro-cognitive development, career planning, and more. Near-peer support and networking among interns within the program and with their mentors who share similar interests and passions enhance the experience and aid with career decision making.
Internship stipend: $2,500
Qualifications:
US citizens with a demonstrated interest in the biological and/or health sciences.

Metropolitan Transportation Commission
Each year Metropolitan Transportation Commission sponsors a High School Internship Program. The purpose of the program is to introduce high school students (in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade) to career opportunities in the field of transportation, to show them how public transportation agencies play an overall part in the community, county, and regional transportation operations, and to provide MTC’s transportation partners (such as traffic engineers at city and county public works departments or regional planners at transit agencies) with assistance.
