California Distinguished School
Foothill has been fortunate and honored to be named a California Distinguished School in 1994, 2001 and 2005. The criteria for schools to be honored with this award is stringent, so Foothill is immensely proud of this achievement -- three times over.
The California School Recognition Program was created in 1985 to identify and honor the state's exemplary and inspiring public schools with the California Distinguished School Award. Participation is voluntary since it requires a great deal of effort on the part of school staff and parents to complete the application process. Roughly 5 percent of California's schools are honored each year. The duration of a distinguished school honor is four years.
