Our Services

We strive to provide students with effective, accessible counseling services for academic, social/emotional, and career planning issues. As counselors, we understand that high school can be a challenging time for students on many levels. Common concerns for which students regularly seek our assistance include:
  • Course planning
  • College guidance
  • Struggles in a particular class or subject
  • Personal issues

Dear Foothill Students and Families,
 
The counseling department would like to wish you all a wonderful summer! Please note that our last day is June 3. We will return to the office on August 12.
 
We know questions arise and want to make you aware of a few details worth noting:
 
  1. SENIORS: Our registrar will be mailing your final transcript at the end of June to the college you indicated on your graduation exit survey. Please be aware that it may take several weeks for the colleges to process the transcript and update your portal as received. We recommend you contact the college directly if you have concerns regarding the status of your final transcript. If you are planning to attend a different college than the one you indicated on the survey, please make sure to update our registrar, Mrs. Janet Burnett, before the office closes on June 21. If you need an official transcript sent after June 21, please go directly to the district office to request one to be sent. More information can be found here: Transcript Request
  2. SUMMER SCHOOLIf you signed up for summer school, the classes will be indicated on the "Schedule" section of your Q Connection. If you need to change a class, cancel a class, or make any other changes, please direct all requests to the summer school office at summerprograms@pleasantonusd.net. All information regarding summer school can be found here: Summer School Details 
  3. SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICYThinking about changing your class requests for next fall? Counselors will take limited schedule change requests during walk-thru registration in August. Most schedule change requests will need to wait until the second week of school. If you are considering requesting to add an honors or AP class, we recommend you complete the applicable summer work for the course in order to be prepared. Please note that schedule changes are requests and not guaranteed.

The presentation for FHS's November 8th FAFSA and Financial Aid night is available for download below.  The FAFSA is currently open.  Apply early to take advantage of more opportunities for financial aid.
