Early Dismissal Due to Illness
To clear an absence, early dismissal or late arrival, a parent or guardian must call the 24-hour attendance line at 925-461-6600 and then press "1". We do not accept notes or e-mails in high school to request and/or clear absences, early dismissals or late arrivals.
This is a 24-hour phone line, so calls can be made any time of the day or night. Every absence or tardy of any kind must be cleared by a parent or legal guardian within 72 hours or absences are considered “cuts” and are subject to disciplinary action.
Auto-Dialer Calls
If you receive an automated call stating that your student was absent for one or more periods, please check Q Connection to see the period/class in which the student was marked absent. If the student believes the absence was an error they should first contact the teacher to make corrections. Students have one week to have their attendance corrected.
Truancy & Excessive Absences
An important part of academic success is good attendance. The school district has an attendance protocol to track truancy and excessive absences. Parents will be notified if students have a certain number of unexcused absences or an excessive number of excused absences.
