March Student of the Month

Congratulations to senior Mariah Worley for being named Foothill’s March Student of the Month.

There’s little doubt that Mariah has made the most of her four years at Foothill. She’s been on the varsity softball team for two years. She’s also been a member of the leadership class, the Fish Club, the Link Crew and has been the emcee at Foothill’s rallies this year.

Mariah is a wonderful student and a warm, kind person,” English teacher Mary Crawbuck said. “She is a loyal supporter of her classmates, teachers and her school.”

Away from school, Mariah spends time working with STRETCH, a Christian group that helps students in first through sixth grades improve in baseball and softball.

“Mariah is an extremely dedicated athlete who brings great enthusiasm and effort to our softball team,” Foothill softball coach Matt Sweeney said.

Mariah has received a softball scholarship to Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. She hopes to be either a first-grade teacher or a special needs teacher after she graduates from college.

“In the brief time (that I have known Mariah), it has been clear to me that she represents all that we here at Foothill, as well as the community of Pleasanton, recognize as a person of character,” social studies teacher Nathan Parrish said. “I can think of no other student as deserving of this honor than Mariah.”

Congratulations, Mariah!
