February Student of the Month

Congratulations to senior Kristina Chin for being named Foothill’s February Student of the Month.

Kristina manages to pull off a 4.19 grade point average, despite being loaded down with five advanced placement classes and being involved in Foothill’s award-winning band.

Kristina displays a true commitment to excellence,” social studies teacher David Middleton said. “She is a hard worker, a team player who has excellent preparation for her assignments and exams.”

Kristina is a member of both the marching band and the wind ensemble. She also finds time to be a three-year member of the Interact Club, including two years as club secretary.

Outside school, Kristina has volunteered at The Tech Museum in San Jose, even working at the crowd-drawing Leonardo da Vinci exhibit when it was in town.

Kristina has volunteered her time to help clean the Del Valle Regional Park and helped raise money for HydrAid, which provides water filters for under-developed areas. She’s also volunteered at the ValleyCare Health Library and the Museum on Main Street.

Kristina plan to attend a University of California college to study biology and chemistry. Her hope is to become a geneticist to cure or improve treatments for genetic diseases or to be a genetics counselor to help people raising children with genetic disorders.

Congratulations, Kristina!
