Help Mrs. K Beat Cancer

Foothill’s choir teacher, JoAnn Koobatian, is battling cancer as she continues with an exhausting year-end schedule that includes concerts and graduation events.

We can help Mrs. K, as her students call her, by raising money to help fund the much-needed PET scans that her insurance company is refusing to cover. Each PET scan costs a whopping $3,300. Several scans are needed to check the effectiveness of chemo treatments.

Student Vicky Binder, a ninth-grader in Foothill’s women’s choir, has started a fundraising campaign to help Mrs. K.

Donations can be dropped off in the front office with Claudia See or mailed to Vicky at Mrs. K Donation Fund, 3404 Ashton Court, Pleasanton 94588. Please make checks payable to Mrs. K Donation Fund.

The money collected will be deposited into an account for Mrs. K to help pay for these important tests.

“Mrs. K is so dedicated to the Foothill choir program,” Vicky wrote in a fundraising letter sent to friends. “She has spent so much time and been so patient helping us with our songs, setting up great trips for us, like Boston and Great America, and teaching us how to present ourselves on stage. All of us, both current and past students, owe so much to her. Contributing to her donation fund is just one way to show Mrs. K how much we appreciate her.”
