DECA Crushes it at Conference

Foothill's DECA students brought home an impressive 121 awards from the DECA Northern California Career Development Conference held the weekend of Jan. 15 in San Ramon.
The conference provided a chance for DECA students to compete in events relating to marketing, finance, management and hospitality/tourism.
Foothill students competed with nearly 1,600 students from all across Northern California. Students could compete in 40 different events. Overall awards were awarded based on presentations, written projects and/or comprehensive exams. Please see the attachment below for the full list of Foothill students who won awards.
"My favorite part of this conference was feeling the electricity of our team spirit fill the room as our students cheered on one another with undeniable Falcon pride," DECA adviser Tami Raaker said.
"(I) loved being able to compete and truly apply all of our classroom learning to real-world situations," DECA president Ardin Lo added.
DECA students are preparing to for the state conference in San Diego in March.
Other top eight finalists are Blake Braden, Christy Chen, Benjamin Chen, Jamal Dessouky, Matt Gates, Valentina Im, Angela Jocson, Kyle Kenny, Mohit Kondle, Sophie Nguyen, Fatima Qureshi, Seant Sarkis-Kelly, Ajit Selvakumaran, Victoria Tam, Garrett Wrenn, Manal Yaqub and Jacqueline Zhang.
