Students Win Video Contest

Four Foothill film club members won second-place honors in the statewide Directing Change student video contest.

Students who created the award-winning suicide prevention video, Our Voice is Strong, are José Alvarado, Ibrahim Qureshi, Samuel Saldinger and David Hong. Click here to watch the video on YouTube. Foothill was part of a 16-county region in the contest.

The winning film students will be honored at an awards ceremony May 13 at the Crest Theater in Sacramento. The Foothill students won $250 for their video. The awards will be presented by director Bradley Buecker and actor Max Adler of Glee.

Directing Change is part of statewide efforts to prevent suicide, reduce stigma and discrimination related to mental illness, and to promote the mental health and wellness of students.
