Percussion & Color Guard Win Top Honors

Foothill's percussion earned the championship trophy at the Northern California Band Association's Winter Championships held March 29 at Del Oro High School in Loomis.

The color guard won an impressive second-place title in the open division with the third highest score of all groups competing that day.

"We are very proud of our students' hard work and successes this season," band director Joshua Butterfield said.

Foothill's two groups competed against 110 other groups from schools throughout Northern California and Nevada.

Percussion won the championship trophy by earning the highest score of all percussion groups performing that day. This is the second year in a row that Foothill's percussion group has won the event and the second year color guard has ranked second.
