DECA Scores More Wins

A dozen Foothill DECA students took top honors at DECA's 63rd annual State Career Development Conference held Feb. 6-9 in Anaheim.

The event gave nearly 2,000 future marketing and business leaders the chance to prepare for their careers by competing in more than 40 specialized fields. Foothill students excelled at the competition, securing numerous spots for the international conference in Atlanta in May.

Foothill's top students are:
  • Andrew Nam -- retail merchandising, 2nd place & sports/entertainment business operations research, 4th place
  • Angela Jocson -- principles of hospitality and tourism, 4th place
  • Anmol Gupta -- restaurant/food service management, 4th place
  • Ari Kim -- finance business operations research, 3rd place
  • Ashna Jasuja -- finance business operations research, 3rd place & financial services team decision making, 3rd place
  • Byron Lo -- community service project, 2nd place & food marketing, 4th place
  • Christine Oh -- public relations project, 4th place
  • Crystal Tang -- apparel/accessories marketing, 4th place
  • Kate Oh -- public relations project, 4th place
  • Neha Nirkondar -- finance business operations research, 3rd place & finance team decision making, 3rd place
  • Roland Huang -- sports/entertainment business operations research, 4th place
  • Shivi Bhatnagar -- sports/entertainment business operations research, 4th place

Other Foothill finalists in the top eight include Ardin Lo, Edward Im, Luka Qin, Nihar Patil, Olivia Huang, Pierre Genard, Raymond Peng, Sophie Nguyen, and Tanvi Antoo.
