Turkey Trot

Foothill's third annual Turkey Trot was a rousing success, drawing more than 100 enthusiastic runners who donated 1,504 canned and nonperishable food items for the Feed My Sheep Food Pantry in Oakland.

The National Honor Society hosted the Turkey Trot after school Nov. 20 as a way to build school spirit, give students a shot as some fun community service hours and collect items for a local food bank.

The event consisted of four-person relay teams that jumped hurdles, dunked balls in trashcans, Hula-Hooped and flat-out ran their way along the outdoor track. Teams competed for speed records and the most cans donated.

Winners in the non-competitive division are:
1. Josh Low, Connor Isozaki, Dayo Adesokan and Aaron Zagar
2. Michael An, Kushaan Bahl, Maxwell Moeller and Baron Ren
3. Julian Dessouky, Nima Habibi, Tyler Winegar and Jose Garcia
Winners in the competitive division are:
1. Brian Weiner, Stein Acker, Caleb Henze and Matt Briones
2. Timmy Wu, Abteen Ebrahimi, Eric Yoshida and Julian Dessouky
3. Andy Francis, Parker Jameson, Nihaal Zaveri and Sean Sullivan

The team that donated the most cans is:
1. PTSA Marauding Moms (291 cans) -- Kelly Errigo, Kathy Soldai, Zoe Francis and many donors

Winners had their choice of gigantic pies, movie tickets or Starbucks gift cards.

National Honor Society students thank the people who attended, plus the teachers who so wholeheartedly supported the Turkey Trot.
