Band Wins Awards

Foothill's award-winning marching band is off to another phenomenal start after racking up a slew of awards at the first major competition of the season.

The band owned the parade competition at the Cupertino Tournament of Bands held this past weekend. Foothill marched away with first place awards for percussion and colorguard, plus the coveted sweepstakes awards for music and parade. Sweepstakes are for the highest overall score of all bands that competed.

The day's competitions continued as the Falcons hit the stadium for the field competition. Foothill won second place for colorguard and third-place trophies for brass, percussion and division 5A band.

"I would like to thank all of the students and parents that worked tirelessly throughout the day," band director Joshua Butterfield said. "You have all impressed me today with your dedication to our program here at Foothill, and you should be proud."

Congratulations to Foothill's talented musicians and cologuard for their outstanding performances.
