Denim & Diamonds Update

Foothill's first-ever spring fundraiser, Denim & Diamonds, brought in nearly $35,000 for our cash-strapped school.

Denim & Diamonds featured a popular online auction, followed by an evening of friendship and fun April 28 at the Veterans Memorial Building in beautiful downtown Pleasanton.

The auction and evening event grossed roughly $50,000. After expenses, the net is roughly $34,883 for the school's three major booster groups, which worked together to host the spectacular event. The three groups are the Academic & Activities Booster Group (AABC), Foothill Athletic Boosters and Band Boosters. Each group will net roughly $11,138 from the event. (These figures are rough. Final numbers are still being tabulated.)

Among the most popular auction items were three VIP packages for this year's graduation ceremony. Those three items brought in $1,308 that will go directly to help fund the ceremony.

Special thanks to the hard-working parents who put in endless hours to organize this successful event -- Renee Mahdavi, Katrina Edwards, Barbara Kirk, Lucia Holman, Brenda McFarlane, Donna Truex, David Biehl and Terry Abbey.

Thank you to our biggest sponsors -- Jewelry by Design, Kasaria Designs, Colleen & Joe Ronan, Lou Perry State Farm, Gina Piper and the Tannenbaum, Mahdavi and Haykin families. Thanks also to the many wonderful Foothill families that supported the event by donating auction items and attending the event.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 3 for the triumphant return of Foothill's gala fundraiser, Falcon Royale Masquerade. The event will be held at the Pleasanton Hilton, 7050 Johnson Drive.
