Student Named Top Referee

Congratulations to Foothill junior Kyle Wiest for being named young referee of the year for 2011 by the California Youth Soccer Association-North.

Kyle, a referee for the Pleasanton Soccer Referee Association (PSRA), will travel to the Far West Regionals in Phoenix, Arizona, in June. He'll referee games at the U.S. Youth Soccer regional games, competing against the other 13 top youth referees to vie for the honor of being the region's best referee.

Kyle plays goalkeeper and forward on Foothill's varsity soccer team. He has been a referee with the PSRA since he was 12 years old and was named youth referee of the year when he was only 14. He was recently named district III youth referee of the year before ultimately winning the state title for Northern California.

Congratulations to Kyle for his outstanding referee skills, and best of luck at regionals.
