Cheer Squad Takes First Place

Foothill's junior varsity cheer squad is white hot this season, bringing home another first-place win from the United Spirit Association's regional competition held Saturday at Merrill West High School in Tracy.

The junior varsity squad cheerleaders took first place in their division -- junior varsity show cheer, novice. The squad competed against four other schools, including Amador Valley and Carondelet, to win the first-place title,

The varsity team came in third in the varsity show cheer/intermediate division, competing against four other teams. Carondelet took first place, followed by Amador Valley in second.

Both squads did well enough to qualify for the national competition.
