Junior Varsity Cheer Takes First Place

Congratulations to Foothill's junior varsity competition cheer squad for winning first place in the show cheer novice category at last weekend's United Spirit Association's regional competition at Washington High School in Fremont.

Foothill's JV squad beat six other high school JV squads to win the first-place title. Foothill's stunt team took second place in a field of three teams in the high school group stunt intermediate category. The group stunt team members are Camille Hamlin, Caressa DeRossett, Hayley Jefferies, Emily Palange and Gabbie Scalise.

The JV squad is coached by teacher Karen Maurice. The group stunt is coached by Megan Moore. Kim DeJoy is the head coach for Foothill's nationally-ranked cheer squads.
