DECA Makes History at International Event

Congratulations to Foothill's outstanding DECA students for winning multiple top honors at the International Career Development Conference held April 24-27 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Foothill's DECA students have long been major contenders at this highest level of competition, but have never taken home the revered first-, second- or third-place trophies -- until this spectacular year!

Foothill had 15 students compete in various categories. Connor Wrenn achieved the highest distinction of first place in Principles of Marketing. Christine Yi placed second overall in Entrepreneurship Participating Creating a Franchise Business.

Vivian Tsai, Anna Zhang and Max Wang were overall international finalists, ranking in the top 10, for International Marketing Plan and Advertising Campaign.

Pete Huang took home a medal for placing in the top 10 on the marketing exam.

More than 15,000 students, advisers, business leaders and alumni from the U.S., Canada, Germany, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Guam attended the international conference. The best of the best gather annually for this renowned international conference, where students compete in competency-based events or attend leadership and management academies.

Foothill was honored to have 18 students qualify for the conference. The three students who did not compete were accepted into special management training institutes.

Congratulations to all the students for introducing a new tradition of champions at Foothill! A special thanks to everyone who supported the DECA team to help make possible this crowning achievement.
